Writer's diet

Sometimes words are slow to appear on the page or screen. Some days are so hectic, it's hard to even get a chance to write anything. Some suggest to reward yourself if you meet your daily word count goal. Some say to punish yourself if you don't make your goal. Hmm.

Of all the topics to write about, I have never thought about writing a diet book. Sometimes writers may have a good idea, or an off the wall idea.

How do daily word counts and diets go together? To sum it up, if my daily word count dictated the number of calories I could have that day, I would be skinny! Or dead. So, this is my writers diet. Write or starve. I wonder if I can add my blog post count or if it has to be on my WIP.

Oh, well. My crazy thought of the day.

  1. I don't let myself go to sleep until I hit my word count goal. I will account for other responsibilities, which is why my weekend goals are much lower. I have my family home and I don't want to ignore them. But I make sure my week day goals are high but attainable and I stick to them.

    1. Thanks, Kelly. I write some everyday, but still have a day job so some days I have more time than others. I usually get up early, and stay up late most nights.

  2. Love it, Rick! Write or starve. Great incentive =D (With my daily word count, I would definitely be dead.)
